SARASOTA, Fla. — Donzi Marine, the 43 year old manufacturer of premium high performance boats and offshore center consoles, has kicked off 2007 with the launch of its new consumer website.

Developed and produced by Donzi media specialist Mario Vazquez and vice president of marketing Josh Stickles, the new is based on new Flash and XML programming that have allowed for a substantial increase in content as well as a dynamic new presentation.

“Creating our website in-house allowed us not only total control over our message and our aesthetic, but also the flexibility to incorporate some very new web technology,” said Stickles. Added Vazquez, “We’re hosting more robust content than perhaps any other corporate site in the industry, and it’s only the baseline structure of what we have in store.”

The site is notable for its vast gallery of full screen, high-resolution images and abundance of streaming, full-screen, on-demand video. In addition to detailed specifications and descriptive text, magazine reviews, video, and image galleries for each of the company’s 27 current models, the website serves up a wide array of imagery compiled during the course of Donzi’s illustrious 40-plus year history. “Beyond providing more detailed product information than ever before, we’ve added plenty of peripheral content to keep the enthusiasts happy,” claimed Stickles.

Ancillary components of the website include a Donzi Racing section with image galleries and streaming video for each of its eight current-era championship offshore race teams; a virtual archive of its popular pinup-style “Donzi Girls;” a News section highlighting everything from the company’s collaboration with auto racer and designer Carroll Shelby to its roles in the recent Miami Vice movie; three streaming segments of The Water Channel’s Powerboat Showcase television show featuring various Donzi models; and an in-depth look at Donzi’s history.

“We went back through the archives and worked with a number of industry historians, including the Historic Offshore Race Boat Association, to compile the most definitive history of the company to date,” says Stickles. “We then created an interactive timeline spanning over four decades. We showcase everything from the 1960′s accomplishments of company founder Don Aronow, to the innovation of Dick Genth and Gordon Houser during their stewardship of the company in the mid-1980s, right on up to Donzi’s present-day victories and achievements.”

Founded in Miami in 1964, and located in Sarasota, Florida since 1985, Donzi designs and manufactures over 25 fiberglass recreational powerboat models ranging from 16 to 43 feet. Donzi employs nearly 300 workers and sells boats throughout North America as well as in Latin America and Europe. Donzi is a division of American Marine Holdings, which also includes Pro Line, a market leader of recreational saltwater fishing boats from 17 to 35 feet; and AMH Government Services, which offers customized Donzi and Pro-Line vessels for government and military applications worldwide.
